QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer, and the objective is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training. It is designed to work best in small to mid-sized groups, and can be adapted for any interest group. ![]() ![]() The CDC estimates that for every completed suicide, there are 25 attempts, and that the prevalence of suicidal thoughts, planning, and attempts is significantly higher among adults aged 18-29 than among adults 30 and older. When someone in crisis is identified and guided to receive help, 80 90 of people that seek treatment for depression are treated successfully using therapy andor medication. QPR Gatekeeper Training allows those who are on the front-lines of student interaction to be able to intervene and possibly change the course for a person in crisis.
